It is my absolute pleasure to be able to get to know clients on a personal level through counselling and to assist them with achieving their personal goals. Counselling sessions aim to assist clients to gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationships, to enable them to overcome barriers that are preventing them from achieving goals and living a life consistent with their values. Once a person feels comfortable in the counselling environment, I believe in supporting them with sitting with difficult emotions and facing challenging situations and this is done in a realistic and collaborative way.
For younger clients, I have a flexible approach whereby they can choose to attend sessions on their own or to have a family member accompany them. Counselling is most effective when an individual's family and support network are involved and this is encouraged where possible.
I work with clients experiencing social and learning challenges, behavioural challenges, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, family and adjustment difficulties. Many of my clients are neurodivergent and I also work with young LGBTQI+ individuals or those that are working through gender identity and sexuality questions.
