About Troon Psychology

About Georgie

I am an experienced and compassionate Educational and Developmental Psychologist and am passionately dedicated to providing the best care to all my clients and their families.
I have a family of my own with two primary-school aged children so I fully recognise the demands of parenting. I understand the importance of being able to connect with young people around their interests and try my best to stay up-to-date with all the latest in what kids are into, whether that be sports, music, social media, anime and creative pursuits.
In my free time, I love walking my goofy Labrador, watching sport, exploring nature and all the wonderful things around the city. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and going out to new places. I am born and bred in Melbourne and am an avid Hawks supporter. My cooking skills could use some improvement and I am trying to get back into a rhythm with running on a regular basis.

Expertise

I have a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from Monash University and have been a fully registered Psychologist for nearly 15 years. I also achieved my endorsement in Educational and Developmental Psychology.

It is very important to me to continue professional development and to educate and inspire those around me to grow their knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of individuals and how they can best be supported.

The following experience and expertise allow me to provide the most relevant support to each individual client and their families:

  • Certified provider of the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach, helping parents and educators work with children that are having difficulties meeting behavioural expectations.
  • Certified facilitator of the Tune Into Kids program, which helps adults foster an empathic and emotion-focused response to children.
  • Frequent and ongoing professional development in the delivery of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
  • Frequent and ongoing professional development in supporting neurodivergent individuals.
  • I have worked in both primary and secondary schools providing counselling and assessment and frequently liaise with school staff to ensure students are being supported in the classroom and playground.
